I miss the early days. But I wouldn’t go back
Some days, I really miss the early rush. That feeling of everything is new. The excitement of getting our first client. Building the first version of the website.
Doing things for the first time. It felt like we were constantly running on adrenaline. But in a good way. We had no rules. No templates.
We just figured it out on the go. And I miss that. But I don’t want to go back to it.
Because underneath that excitement was also a lot of confusion. We had no boundaries. We were taking on anything that came our way.
Any kind of client. Any kind of budget. We didn’t even know how to say no.
We’ve come a long way since then. We have minimum pricing now. We have certain clients we know we won’t work with. We know what we stand for - and what we don’t.
That took time. And some painful trial and error. I’m glad we did it. But I don’t want to relive it.
The work feels different now. More grounded. More intentional. It’s less thrilling, maybe. But it feels a lot more sustainable.
If you’re in your early days - don’t rush.
You’ll look back on these days with so much nostalgia. But also… be okay with outgrowing them.
You’re not supposed to stay in that chaos forever. Eventually, clarity will come. And when it does, let it.
